It is really the Antonine Column or Column of Marcus Aurelius, in the Piazza Colonna. It is similar to another column found farther down on the Corso, in the Piazza Venezia. That column is Trajan's Column. All of the postings referring to this as Hadrin's Column are in error. Hadrian was the Emperor who followed Trajan. He may have even been responsible for replacing the original eagle that was atop the column with a statue of the Emperor Trajan, which was subsequently changed out by Pope Sixtus V in 1587 for a statue of Saint Peter.
